Meet the Felkins Family

Welcome to It’s a Joyous Journey! This is our first blog post, and we are so excited to introduce ourselves and share our journey with you!

My name is Melissa. My husband, Henry, and I have three teenagers (well, one is technically an adult now, but he still has “teen” attached to his age and lives at home). We love Jesus, family, music, learning, and adventures! Faith and family are the foundation of our identity. Henry and I have been married since 1998, and we have built our lives around worship ministry in Oklahoma City (although we are native Texans). Our three kids are growing up way too fast, but we love to see what each new stage of life brings! We’re trying our best to create as many memorable experiences with them as we can while we still have them at home with us. We’ve had our share of challenges, just like you have, but our faith in God and our commitment to each other always brings us through and helps us to keep finding joy in the journey! On our blog, It’s a Joyous Journey, you’ll be able to connect with us as we explore the world and our local community. We’ll share our adventures in family life, ministry, homeschooling, and travel. Life is not always easy, so you’ll also learn about the hard stuff we’ve faced, like bone marrow failure and a brain tumor, and how we can find joy in the difficult parts of the journey as well.
